In a very short amount of time, sooner than any of us care to dwell on, we'll be women with miles behind us and children flown away from our nests. We'll spend hours looking back at the photos of their toothless smiles and chubby hands wrapped within our own.



We'll cherish the days as teens that they let us squeeze them and sniff their heads like we once did, and man, will we be eternally grateful we caught that on camera.

Someday our tiny humans will have tiny humans of their own. They'll sit around the kitchen table reminiscing on who their parents were at their age. They'll look back at images and compare their noses to your own once-young nose. They'll say, "You're mom's twin in that picture!" They'll want these memories as much as you do now.

I know this because I'm living it. I'm watching my babies grow far too quickly. They're older now. I spend time looking at their childhood images compared to mine- compared to my parents'.



I can see so much of the generations I've loved within them. I can see big-kid features starting to form and I wonder which grandparent gave them their crinkles and crooked teeth.

When a day is done all we have are the memories... and the photographs. As a mom myself, I know how important this is to you and the people who have your eyes but don't even know it yet.
